Quantic Thistle were established to meet the needs of projects that had very specific requirements that were hard to meet using commercial off the shelf product.
It might be that an encoder had to be robust enough to operate in the highly kinetic environment of an armoured vehicle on the battlefield. Or deliver the reliability necessary to allow a nuclear submarine to stay on patrol for months at a time. Or provide the accuracy vital to achieving effective tank fire at ranges of up to 4km.
Design, Prototype & Manufacture
The Engineering Team at Thistle utilise optical, reflective, magnetic or contact encoder technologies to generate novel designs of absolute, incremental or hollow-shaft encoders which deliver the digital output format required. These are then manufactured as prototypes to be qualified against customer requirements. The Production Team at Thistle utilizes best manufacturing practices to support program requirements.
